Comedy: It ain't for everyone.

What the hell is with people going to stand up shows and getting offended? Offended? Like Tom Hamks said in A League of Their Own, "There's no crying in baseball." The same thinking is glued to stand up comedy, there's no getting offended at a comedy show! None, sorry. If you get offended, it's like my father always told me growing up, "Too bad."

If you have tickets to an Andrew Dice Clay concert expect to have your girlfriend or boyfriend made fun of, your religion cut down and everything you thought sacred--demolished. And let's not forget his cursing which seems to flow like words being spewed from the mouth from an out-of-work nail technician from Long Island. Leave your ego at the door when you shell out $45 for the ticket and $12 a drink.

Humor me for a second: If the inner child in you seems to be lacking in the certain areas, if you think you haven't been validated because you didn't catch the fly ball in the little league baseball world series, or every person you asked to the prom said no or the knife set you ordered from The Home Shopping Center didn't come with the 3 bladed pearing knife and free apple holder, don't take out on the stand up comic. He or she is there to do one thing, make you laugh, or at least that's what the owners are hoping. They're not there to fulfill your dreams, give you a better haircut or get your cat out of the tree. Loosen up people, most of you couldn't do it in the first place. Sit down, drink your drink and laugh!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but most comics are not up on stage to piss you off. I can see getting offended at a doctor's bill or your better half cheating on you, but comics on the most part are not "in this" to get their jollies at pissing the audience off. Agreed, there are comics out there who like seeing how far they can push the audience, see how much they can take before they explode. These comics are rare if they can mix the annoyance factor with true comedy. They are out there, his name is Andy Kaufman.
