Divorcing ourselves from Hollywood It seems these days the only thing on the news is what celebrity is getting married and more truthfully, which ones are getting divorced. I think I speak for all NMA fans when I say who cares! Don’t we, the working public, have enough to think about between our bosses, cars, renter’s insurance, girlfriend & boyfriends, mowing the lawn, internet connection, what is in style, yet another Drew Carey show, what character is leaving ER next, to care who is marrying whom and who is leaving whom? Helen left Hank, Meg left Dennis, Laura is sleeping with Jack and Jennifer and Brad are just peachy. Okay, fine. Just leave me out of it! I do not live vicariously through celebrities. I might dedicate 30 hours a week of my life poking fun of them on this site, but I look at that more of a service than an obsession. I’m sure some of you will agree. If you sit around trying to figure out why on earth George Clooney is not married yet than your life is that pathetic, that down in the dumps, that empty of meaning and you have more problems to deal with than you had originally thought. Get on with your life. Let Anne Heche figure out what sex she is, let Tori Spelling wonder about which show she will ruin next and for God’s sake, allow celebrities the decent honor of eating food with their family without someone interrupting them, asking for an autograph thinking they are there specifically to sign a stupid pad of paper that will simply be placed in a desk drawer never to be looked at again.
