Austin Powers: Goldmember

Mike Myers swings onto the silver screen once again in this, the third installment of Austin Powers in Goldmember. The evil doctor, um, Evil is working with the mysterious Swedish swinging man they call Goldmember, in an attempt to destroy the world. Austin is set to defeat Goldmember and Dr. Evil with help from his father, Michael Caine, and his once lover Foxxy Cleopatra, Beyonce Knowles.

As the reviews say, the first 10-15 minutes are hilarious. Stunts, jokes and tons of big star cameos. From Tom Cruise to Steven Spielberg the opening scene is not to be missed, which is also to be said for the rest of the first half of Goldmember. From the mind of Mike Myer's mind came some of the funniest scenes in the Powers trilogy. Secrets were revealed and partnerships were formed, yet, with all this, the jokes faded.

The story slowed down actually. The pranks and semantics were all that were left. The movie took an odd yet disturbing turn into what someone behind me said and I call: "What the hell is going on here?" I don't wish to ruin the movie for you, but I will: WARNING: SPOILER MATERIAL FOLLOWS: Austin's father is revealed to be Austin’s and Dr. Evil’s father? Mini-Me is shunned by Dr. Evil and joins Austin Power? Fat Bastard losing all of his weight? Seth Green has a more substantial part? What the hell is going on here, I ask? If they plan on filming a fourth installment, they blew their movie load way too early.

If you are a Power's fan like me, go see this movie! Because I hope I'm not the only person who has a life-size cardboard cutout of Dr. Evil in his apartment.
